A Japanese Edo period lacquer coffer








A Japanese black and gold lacquer coffer opening to a drawer in lacquer , with a fine decor of flowers and leaves anround central motifs ( maybe heraldic ) , Nagamochi, with gilded brass corner and handles .In very good condition,  the inside  borders in gold lacquer with some slight damage.

 

Provenance: Galerie Didier Aaron , then a private Parisian collection.

Height 37 cm ( 14 1/2 inches ) x length 63 cm  ( 25 inches ) x depth 47 cm ( 18 1/2 inches )
