A charming terracotta string orchestra








A rare and charming orchestra of six elegantly dressed musicians holding or playing the violin and seated in Louis XVI armchairs , all finely carved in terracotta , painted in polychromy and expressively shown with their faces, smiles and wigs. In the manner of Goya sketches.

Spanish, probably Madrid, circa 1790 - 1800.

Height 21 cm ( 8 1/4 inches) x width 11 cm ( 4 1/4 inches) x depth 14 cm ( 5 1/2 inches)
