A large medallion of Marie Antoinette





A large circular medallion representing Queen Marie Antoinette when she arrived in France as  a very young Dauphine in 1770 ( dated on the border) , with pearls in her elaborate wig.

In wood and stucco on a green faux marble background, the gilt wood frame with pearls and leaves.

French or Piedmontese, circa 1770 .

Diameter 70 cm ( 27 1/2 inches)

A few restorations to the background.
